Abstract
Diarrhea is still a health problem in the world and in all age groups, especially in toddlers. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) diarrhea occupies the second position as a cause of under-five mortality in the world and mostly occurs in developing countries. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of drug prescribing in patients with diarrhea under five in the Inpatient Room of the Bekasi District Hospital. The population in this study were all diarrhea patients under five in the inpatient room of Bekasi District General Hospital with purposive sampling as the sample. Data analysis was used descriptively with the data obtained in the form of percentages. The results showed that the number of diarrhea patients under five was 56.16% male and 43.84% female with the largest percentage at the age of 1 year 50.68%; Prescribing based on the most drug class, namely electrolytes 21.5%. The most prescribed types of drugs in patients with diarrhea under five were electrolytes 21.49% in parenteral dosage forms 57.31%. Keywords: Diarrhea, Hospitalization, Prescribing Profile, Toddler
