Abstract
Asma berasal dari bahasa Yunani yang artinya terengah-engah dan serangan pendek. Asma adalah jenis penyakit yang menyerang sistem pernapasan berupa peradangan kronis yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya penyempitan pada saluran napas (hiperaktifitas bronkus). Penyakit asma merupakan jenis penyakit tidak menular yang menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan dan banyak ditemukan di kalangan masyarakat yang memiliki riwayat angka kematian tertinggi. Penatalaksaan yang bisa dilakukan oleh penderita asma salah satunya dengan latihan pernapasan yaitu pursed lips breathing exercise. Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini menggunakan desain studi kasus dengan pendekatan secara kualitatif dan disajikan secara narasi, bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tahapan pelaksanaan dari proses asuhan keperawatan, menggambarkan pelaksanaan dari tindakan pursed lips breathing exercise yang diberikan kepada pasien asma serta menggambarkan respon dan perubahan terhadap saturasi oksigen sebelum dan setelah dilakukannya tindakan pursed lips breathing exercise. Subyek dalam Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini berjumlah 2 orang dengan kasus yang sama yakni asma bronkial. Studi kasus yang dilaksanakan di ruang Kemuning Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Kota Banjar selama 5 hari perawatan. Data yang diperoleh dalam Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini berdasarkan hasil dari wawancara, observasi, pengukuran dan studi dukomentasi. Hasil dari studi kasus menunjukkan, terjadinya peningkatan saturasi oksigen pada kedua pasien asma bronkial setelah dilakukannya tindakan pursed lips breathing exercise. Dimana pada pasien 1 terjadi peningkatan SpO2 sebanyak 4% dari 94% meningkat menjadi 98%. Sedangkan pada pasien 2 mengalami peningkatan SpO2 sebanyak 5%, dari 93% meningkat menjadi 98%. Kesimpulannya, pursed lips breathing exercise dapat meningkatkan saturasi oksigen (SpO2) dari ≤95% menjadi ≥95%. Kata Kunci : Asma, Pursed Lips Breathing Exercise, Saturasi Oksigen (SpO2). Asthma comes from the Greek word meaning gasping and short attacks. Asthma is a type of disease that attacks the respiratory system in the form of chronic inflammation which can cause narrowing of the airways (bronchial hyperactivity). Asthma is a type of non-communicable disease which is a health problem and is commonly found among people who have a history of the highest mortality rate. One of the management that can be done by people with asthma is breathing exercises, namely pursed lips breathing exercise. This scientific paper uses a case study design with a qualitative approach and is presented in a narrative manner, aiming to describe the stages of implementation of the nursing care process, describe the implementation of the pursed lips breathing exercise given to asthma patients and describe the responses and changes to oxygen saturation before and after carrying out the pursed lips breathing exercise. The subjects in this Scientific Writing are 2 people with the same case, namely bronchial asthma. The case study was carried out in the Kemuning room at the Banjar City Regional General Hospital for 5 days of treatment. The data obtained in this scientific paper is based on the results of interviews, observations, measurements and documentation studies. The results of the case study showed that there was an increase in oxygen saturation in both bronchial asthma patients after the pursed lips breathing exercise was performed. Where in patient 1 there was an increase in SpO2 of 4% from 94% to 98%. Whereas in patient 2 there was an increase in SpO2 of 5%, from 93% it increased to 98%. In conclusion, pursed lips breathing exercise can increase oxygen saturation (SpO2) from ≤95% to ≥95%. Keywords: Asthma, Pursed Lips Breathing Exercise, Oxygen Saturation (SpO2)
