Abstract

Complaints of postpartum pain felt by postpartum mothers, especially those with perineal tears, are one of the postpartum complications. Unfortunately, this will increase, especially for mothers who experience third and fourth-degree perineal tears. It is because the tear causes extensive tissue damage. There are several ways to overcome either by giving drugs or pharmacology or without drugs or non-pharmacology. One of the non-pharmacological methods is the sitz bath method, which sits in warm or cold water on the perineum to increase circulation to the local area (soaking area). This study aims to determine the effect of sitz bath on the intensity of perineal pain in postpartum mothers at RSUD dr. Soekardjo, Tasikmalaya City. This research is a quasi-experimental study with one group pre-test post-test. The population is normal postpartum mothers at RSUD dr. Soekardjo, Tasikmalaya City. Sampling by incidental sampling with a total of 31 people. The variables in this study were the sitz bath method and the intensity of perineal pain with data collection using checklist sheets and pain measurement tables and analysis using a t-test. The results of this study showed that the intensity of perineal pain in postpartum women before the sitz bath was severe pain in as many as 26 people (83.87%), and after the sitz bath, that was moderate pain in as many as 28 people (90.32%) There is an effect of sitz bath on perineal pain in postpartum women at RSU dr. Soekardjo, City of Tasikmalaya. with value = 0.001.
