Abstract

Permasalahan perilaku kesehatan anak usia sekolah (6 -10 tahun) biasanya berkaitan dengan kebersihan perorangan seperti cuci tangan yang baik dan benar. Hasil Riskesdas 2008 menunjukkan b ahwa terdapat provinsi yang indikator cuci tangannya masih dibawah rerata nasional atau 23,2 . Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan anak usia sekolah dalam cuci tangan adalah memberikan pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ” Quasi experimental one group pre and post test design ” dengan intervensi pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi . Jumlah sampel sebanyak 44 siswa. 22 siswa untuk metode ceramah dan metod e demonstrasi adalah 22 siswa . Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah Quota sampling . Teknik statistik untuk data ordinal dapat digunakan teknik statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank dan Uji Mann Whitney U Test . Ada peningkatan pengetahuan tentang cuci tangan secara be rmakna (p value < 0,05) setelah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah sebanyak 13 responden (rerata peningkatan sebesar 7,92) dan ada peningkatan pengetahuan tentang cuci tangan secara tidak bermakna (p value > 0,05) setelah dilakukan pendid ikan kesehatan dengan metode demonstrasi sebanyak 9 responden (rerata peningkatan sebesar 8,44). Antara metode ceramah dengan metode demonstrasi secara statistik tidak bermakna (p value > 0,05), Artinya antara metode ceramah (rerata peningkatan 23,35) dan metode demonstrasi (rerata peningkatan 17,65) sama -sama efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang cuci tangan. Ada peningkatan pengetahuan cuci tangan sebelum dan sesudah mendapatkan pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi pada anak sekolah dasar. Metode ceramah dan demonstrasi sama -sama efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan cuci tangan pada anak sekolah dasar. One of t he ways to improve school children knack in hand -washing is by giving health education talks and demonstrations . Design used in study was “One group pretest and posttest Quasi Experimental Design” with health education intervention of talk and demonstratio n methods. Sample numbered 44 students, 22 students for talks method and demonstration method with balance 22 students. Sample collection technique was Quota Sampling. Data Ordinal statistic technique can be applied Wilcoxon Signed Rank and Mann Whitney U Test statistic technique. There is a significant knowledge improvement on hand -washing (p value < 0,05) after health education with talks method carried out on 13 respondents (average increase of 7,92) and an insignificant increase on hand -washing knowledg e (p value > 0,05) after carrying out health education with demonstration method on 9 respondents (average increase of 8,44). Between talks method and demonstration method statistically was insignificant (p value > 0,05), indicating that between talks meth od (average increase of 23,35) and demonstration method (average increase of 17,65) are both effective in improving knowle dge on hand -washing. There is an improvement on knowlege of hand- washing prior and after obtaining health education with talks and dem onstration methods to elementary school children. Talks and demonstration methods are both effective in improving hand -washing knowledge to elementary school children.
